"After experimenting with oil and acrylic, I found my true affinity is with transparent watercolor. I love its spontaneity, its freedom of flow, the surprises, and the challenge to master or at least control the independence of its gentle yet willful nature. I do still lifes now and then, but I am particularly attracted to landscapes. Color and light are the elements that most strike my sensuous core. Watercolor seems to best capture for me the vibrancy and translucence of sky, earth, water and all that grows and travels therein. I may know where I want to go, but how to get there is always an adventure."

"For a number of years now my focus has been on sculptural pieces. It was not until around 2009 that I started feeling like and knowing in my soul that I was an artist. It was while working on these sculptural pieces that I broke free. I work with polymer clay, paper clay, paper mache and whatever else I might pick up. My pieces are very organic both in appearance and the process that brings them to life. I usually start with very vague ideas, like a face and let the clay become what it wants to become. As with my metal work, these sculptural pieces have a patina as if they have been touched by many hands and originated in another place unknown to us."

"My quilts are geometrically designed on a grid pattern in unusual shapes with rich color combinations. Reminiscent of M. C. Escher’s designs, they are very dimensional and directional. The foil-stamping on the fabrics makes them sparkle and glow in sunlight and evening light. Many quilts are embellished with beads and buttons adding more layers of depth and texture. All my quilts are hand-quilted which gives them a soft texture and feel. Hanging them in different directions changes their effect."

With over 30 years in the Graphic Arts as a self-employed graphic designer, Rebecca brings a deep understanding of design principles, color theory, and repeating grid patterns to her work.
Her journey as a fiber artist began in 1975, designing and crocheting clothing before discovering quilting as a medium that offered greater creative flexibility. She began creating small wall-hanging quilts, applying her graphic design expertise to develop geometric, repeating patterns.
Since then, she has created more than 315 quilts, exploring dynamic shapes beyond traditional squares and rectangles—including triangles, trapezoids, and parallelograms. Her work celebrates bold color and luminous detail, often embellished with foil stamping, beads, shells, metallic cording, and gold mesh.
Twenty years ago, Rebecca expanded into a home décor line featuring table runners, mug mats, placemats, pillows, and bags. Inspired by quilt motifs, each piece is crafted from 100% cotton canvas and batiks, enhanced with foil stamping for added vibrancy. Her work is featured in galleries across the country, particularly in the Southwest and Midwest.

​"Sometimes as one is falling asleep, strange visions come to mind. With my current work, representing times when nothing quite makes sense, I am creating some of these visions to share with others. All are photographic composites created solely by me from my own original photographs. Creation often begins with a photo of a landscape or an object that speaks to me. Artist Statement: I am a painter who is inspired by the world around me, including the places I have traveled and explored. I want to share those experiences in my work as I continue the artistic journey and find new inspiration from the places, and people that surround me.
My paintings celebrate color, texture and a physical connection to the nature that each artwork represents. My goal is to create a sense of depth in each painting using thick, expressive, paint strokes, shadow and light. I work primarily in acrylic on canvas, building in layers and texture in a technique that usually is more representational of oil based work.
My hope is the dimensional approach of building my painting on the canvas will help connect you as the viewer, draw you in, and create a relationship with the Impressionistic / Open Impressionistic style of the artwork.

​"I started in the arts as early as 1969 as a portrait artist and clay sculpture. I have owned businesses thru the years and have been in many juried fine art and International shows throughout New Mexico, Nevada, Texas, Arizona and California. I am mostly self taught, but also have taken courses with the Columbus art and Design of Ohio and Foothill College in California. While living in another state, I painted the legendry figures of the Old West, capturing the essence of the outlaws, like Billy the Kid, Wyatt Earp, who lived so large in our history. After moving to New Mexico, the history and stories of everyday life, colorful cultures of Native American and Mexican people took hold of my brush. My style of art had finally found the right home."

​Darlene Olivia McElroy comes from an old New Mexico family of artists, musicians and inventors. She is a mad scientist of art techniques and is continually exploring new surfaces, materials and techniques.
Throughout her career McElroy has combined head and heart in her journey of creating evocative mixed-media paintings. Trained as a painter and illustrator, she has an obsession for materials, passion for dreamlike imagery, and love of new technologies, which she uses to immerse herself in richly textured surfaces, mixtures of old and new, and brilliant and subdued tones. And always, there is a face or symbol of humanity that serves as a guide into mysterious layers which challenge reason and draw upon emotions.

"Dignity...It's an attribute I find most appealing in my Native American subjects, and it's what I strive to convey in my sculptures. Having grown up in an area rich in Native American history, I have been intrigued by Native American culture since childhood and marvel in their spirituality and wisdom. I earned my BA degree in Advertising Design from Iowa State University. Although mostly self-taught, I have attended a few classes and sculpture workshops. I am a member of the National Sculpture Society, and my work has appeared in juried shows from Wyoming to Illinois.
