I am drawn to nature’s organic forms (branches, buds, and floral elements) and old-world architectural structures and contemporary geometric forms: arches, triangles, circles and rectangles. I use these forms and elements to create my designs. I integrate forging, piercing, sinking, chasing, rolling, and overlaying of metal with cast organic and hand-carved/cast forms in sterling and fine silver with 14/18/22K gold and gems. These designs are textured and highlighted with hand-created surfaces, patina, and/or 24 karat gold using a Korean gilding technique called Keum Boo, creating high contrast with the mixing of metals. My newest collection, Pandemonium, explores the notion of geometric, sculptural forms captured, moving, and balancing within space, and how far the forms and patterns can be pushed, creating equilibrium while also ensuring beauty.
