Anita Rodriguez has moved her monthly salons, traditionally held at her residence, to Quechua restaurant, in the S.E. corner of McCarthy Plaza. Friday, Sept. 22, at 7:00 an incredible cast of famous local storytellers MAYE TORRES, JOHN NICHOLS AND BILL WHALEY will begin what is sure to be a memorable spilling of the frijoles.
These famous artists and writers were authentic eye witnesses, real life participants and in some cases the perpetrators of hysterical (sorry) historical events. We are calling it MEMORY MICROPHONE. If you want to eat some of Chef Jose’s excellent Peruvian food, it’s is a good idea to call (575 770 1057) and make reservations for before or after the presentation, as the kitchen will be closed from 7:00 until 8:30.
Maye is not only one of Taos’ most original and best known women Taos artists, she is a lively, witty, brave – no, valiant raconteur. John Nichols, author of Milagro Bean Field War, The Sterile Cookoo – and 425 other books – needs no introduction. And neither does Bill Whaley, author of Gringo Lessons, and editor of The Horse Fly. Don’t miss this quintessentially Taos experience!
