Trained as a figurative painter/printmaker, Louise Sackett approaches all her work from a painter’s point of view. Light and composition take center stage. Her preferred style is impressionist realism, with the punctuation of personal statements with the brush, pencil or stick. In this day of instant photos and digital art, Louise finds the mark of the artist to be more important than ever. Therefore, each of her creations celebrates rather than hides obvious brush and pencil strokes. The immediacy of the visible artist’s touch is as important to her as is the style.

Peggy Trigg has spent her life playing in the visual arts. Whether producing her own artwork or helping young art students reach their potential, she has been working in the arts for over 30 years. Possibly because of her teacher background, Peggy works in a number of media, including pastel, oil, acrylic, printmaking, and clay. She uses whatever medium best supports her ideas at the time. Recently retired, she is currently working in the water-based mediums of acrylic and watercolor.
Picture
Picture
Most of Peggy’s artwork centers on the landscape. Being raised on a ranch in Northern New Mexico instilled in Peggy a lifetime love for nature: “The quiet and peacefulness of the country inspire me.”

YENNY COCQ’s Creative Inspiration
My artistic expression and challenge is to refine the human figure to basic and almost geometric forms. I love to use simple body postures and language to portray an emotional idea or story. My romantic couples express all the romantic or loving longings with their unique body language.  Together they display an emergent emotional expression. With simple lines and planes I work to capture the essence of these gestures. The couples and families are separate individuals but bound in non-verbal communication. It is my hope that viewers feel their own experiences, perceptions and passions reflected in my sculptures.

Ivana T. Starcevic,
Contemporary Visual Artist

TO CONNECT WITH IVANA
An abstract expressionistic painter living and working in Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1989, Ivana Starcevic was born in Belgrade, Serbia. She long has sought to capture “the spirit of place” in her art, finding inspiration not only in her current surroundings, but also in her fragmented memories of where she grew up. From the age of four, Starcevic knew she wanted to be an artist.
Her paintings are rich in color, verve and motion, whether inspired by landscape, light or New Mexico’s sky.
Starcevic earned an MFA in Mixed Media from the Academy of Applied Arts University in Belgrade and later pursued postgraduate studies in printmaking from the University of New Mexico.
Her current large-scale work, inspired by southwestern hues and views, is usually painted from memory, “guided by intuition and fueled by imagination.”  Unafraid of challenges, her style bold, her approach sometimes messy, Starcevic’s curiosity and passion infuse her paintings.
While she did take a break from fine arts to pursue a 20-year career as the Creative Director for a Fortune 500 Company, focused on technology and innovation in custom training and digital communications, throughout Starcevic kept connected to art through her work as both a rescue animal photographer, and a contributor to Getty/iStock.
Now retired from business, Starcevic daily plays with rhythmic layers of vivid acrylics and oils, energetically exploring alternatives on canvas.
Her work, described by one critic as “unshakably cosmopolitan, irreversibly modern and strikingly innovative,” has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and her pieces are in both public and private collections.

"Woodworking is the lover who drives you to drink and pitches a tent in your soul. I’ve loved her for over five decades, inhaled her scent and mainlined her sawdust to the peak of the mountain whilst destroying every relationship and turning every possession to ash. I’m the street corner junkie looking for the next fix, the next piece that takes one’s breath away, touches you softly and finds your heart if only for a few minutes. Charles Bukowski said it best, “Find what you love and let it kill you."

Saying Richard Harper’s art is detail-oriented is like calling the sun slightly bright. The trait permeates his life and his art, images that one artist describes as abstract surrealism created with strong texture, and refined technique. His work transforms the principles of design, and his sense of organization leads to vivid, yet subtle layers of composition.

My work expresses deep feelings about my inner world and relationships. A life-changing sojourn in Japan and especially the ability of the Japanese people to “make space” in the mind and heart in the midst of crowds greatly influences my work. My paintings are further inspired by living in the high desert of New Mexico where the land and skies – vibrantly colored, constantly shifting – captivate my imagination   I give voice to the freedom that comes from squeezing through.

Earlayne is an oil painter whose work has found an eager audience.  She has been painting for over forty years, and it shows!! Earlayne has moved to the cool pines of Ruidoso, New Mexico where she is finding new inspiration for her paintings.  For many years, Texas provided the locales and inspiration for paintings of the Texas Hill Country.  In 1991, Earlayne began studies with leading American artists, Ray Vinella, Kevin MacPherson and Clyde Aspevig.  They helped her to open new avenues of artistic growth.  Her first loves were wildlife and garden genres and now Earlayne’s canvases encompass vibrant color landscapes from across the Southwest and the Rocky Mountains.

Painting is my form of meditation: it is going to a place of calm and quiet strength. My inspiration comes from the Northern New Mexico landscape, the high-altitude light, and the mysteries surrounding the old places. Inspirations’ come from emotions and dreams.

Artist Statement: “From time to time I experience strange, intense, short-lived visions of beauty, an unfamiliar, elusive, barely perceptible beauty that surfaces in certain words or landscapes, certain colorations of the world, certain moments…”Guy Maupassant
These words express my goal as a painter. My paintings attempt to capture an intense moment that rings absolutely true. A scene, a certain light, colors arranged that pierce through ones center to extract an emotion. A search for beauty in the familiar, unseen until revealed by the work. The mundane elevated to art.
