Carrie is creative, she is adventurous, she can produce amazing real life animals but turn around and think outside of the box. Her mind is always working on new ideas and different ways to use her artistic talents. "While much of my bronze sculpture expresses some of my favorite animal personalities, my curiousity for new subjects, sculpture mediums and 3D technology, mhave given me a new inspiration for creating and casting sculpture." I have created a workbook, “The Unstoppable Artist” which has a wide range of traditional and creative art projects and examples, so I am expanding a cohesive library of examples for future use through workshops. Making time for creative exploration is a passion that I transmit to emerging artists. The inspiration that I receive from life whether fauna or flora is the awareness that all life is intrinsically connected. This feeling of awe runs through me and into my painting, regardless of materials or technique and is usually expressed as interpretive and modulated color applied with a lyrical brush in appreciation for the beauty of nature. My custom jewelry designs are created JUST FOR YOU no two pieces are alike." "I’m originally from the east coast and I grew up visiting craft centers in the Virginia and West Virginia mountains. I was entranced with the jewelry and art I saw. I always loved working with my hands and I really enjoy the process of designing and creating jewelry. I moved to New Mexico because this part of the country is the most deeply inspiring place I’ve ever been. I love the colors in the landscape and the every changing clouds in the sky. I want my jewelry to communicate my excitement and enthusiasm for New Mexico." "I work primarily in silver - sometimes in copper. I make the components of my pieces by hand to create the overall design. Texture is a fundamental part of many of my designs and I incorporate patterns and shapes from nature in many of my pieces. My formal education is in chemistry. I didn’t become really involved in making jewelry until I was out of college and working. I started with some silver smithing classes and since then I’ve pursued a continuing course of jewelry related classes." New Mexico artists are amazing! There is always a space that contains a story; there is always a path that leads us on into our own story. The solitude and peace that we all seek is in the magic of Ann’s work. Painting is my form of meditation: it is going to a place of calm and quiet strength. My inspiration comes from the Northern New Mexico landscape, the high-altitude light, and the mysteries surrounding the old places. Inspirations’ come from emotions and dreams. During her formative years she had the opportunity to live in both Italy and Spain. She graduated from the visual arts high school, Escuela de Artes y Superior de Conservación y Restauración, in Salamanca, Spain in 1999. After graduation she pursued her love of percussion and studied drumming in both Los Angeles and Guinea, West Africa. Still drawn to the visual arts, she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2013. Daniella currently lives in Placitas, NM, where she is working as a freelance artist. ARTIST STATEMENT: “Painting is my passion and joy, and art for me is a celebration of life. My paintings have a bright and saturated palette because I like the freedom of not having any restrictions when it comes to color. My work is expressed through patterns in a decorative and playful manner. I try to incorporate movement, imagination and artistry in each of my pieces. The media I currently work in both oil and acrylic. The subject matter I reflect in my paintings embraces music, dance, nature, and architecture, all of which inspire me as an artist. These are the elements that bring me happiness in my day to day life and I hope I can share that joy and passion with others through my art.” New Mexico artists are amazing!

Colleen Zacharias Gregoire, Artist for CZG Studios Oils and Watercolor Paintings VISIT ARTIST'S WEBSITE Follow CZG Studios on Facebook Participant Placitas Studio Tour My oils and watercolor paintings are inspired by a spiritual sense of 'home', a search for quiet respite and reflection, defined by the house we live in or the land around us. Connecting with our surroundings provides both a simple pleasure and a vital purpose to our existence. My landscape paintings tend to focus on the immediate and perhaps often overlooked details in nature, as do my architectural studies. I am also intrigued by the history of the front porches of the past, and the way in which people incorporate them as a welcoming space to their homes. These snapshots of daily life are set like a stage with the changing effects of light from season to season, and the rich play of colors that harmonize to define a personal and very intimate space. My love of quilts shows up in my geometric painting series, which I drafted using a quilt design software. My goal is always to paint honestly, and to channel the joy I feel while painting. I want my paintings to sing to me, which is when I know that I like them enough to have them seen publically." New Mexico artists are amazing! Theresa Cashman TLC Stained Glass ARTIST VISIT ARTIST'S WEBSITE EMAIL THERESA Classes – Commissions – Repairs I love sharing my inspiration with others and am honored to create and restore beloved items for my clients. -Theresa Lynn Cashman Glass has always been an attractive medium to me. When I left teaching in 2017, I finally had the hours to dedicate to this time-intensive craft. After apprenticing with Scottish Stained Glass, I was hired on as a builder and restorer. Now, I create, restore, repair, and host classes in my studio on Cerrillos Rd to share my love of this age-old art with others. As an emerging artist, I find myself on a tightrope between decorative and fine art. Sometimes I fall one way, sometimes the other. My favorite pieces are the ones with hidden messages or meaning beyond the obvious symbolism or shapes included in the piece, and the ones that find the right combination of colors, textures, and opacities. Finding this combination can be somewhat challenging, even with the wide variety of art glass available, but it feels so good to find it. I began my artistic career as an illustrator and graphic designer for print media; pen and ink were my best friends. Over the years, I expanded my range of media and artistic styles. I now concentrate on painting with acrylics, oils with cold wax, and encaustics (hand-prepared oil tints with wax formulations) as I venture into the abstract. I have further used pieces of old paintings, collected ephemera and graphic sensibilities to work in paper collage. All works are abstracted, and my method of creation requires that I face and embrace change and the unexpected. New Mexico artists are amazing! I work in sterling silver and 14/18 karat gold, and I integrate forging, piercing, sinking, chasing, rolling, and overlay work in metal with hand carved/cast forms. Once designs and special pieces are fabricated, then they are highlighted with surface patina to accent the mixed metals and textures in each piece. Finally, they are set with colored gemstones and one-of-a-kind cabochons. New Mexico artists are amazing! Discover New Mexico’s Art Treasures & support the people who create them. Sandra Duran Wilson Abstract Acrylic Paintings and Sculpture VISIT THE ARTISTS WEBSITE View Sandra's Facebook Page Art Meets Science Sandra Duran Wilson comes from a family of artists and scientists. She grew up in a world where all things were possible in her imagination. It was a world where she could look through the microscope in her fathers office and paint what she saw. Her early years were spent on the border of Mexico where the people, animals, landscape, music, culture and the stories of the curanderas shaped her reality. Years later she would return frequently to Mexico and South America to absorb the culture, traditions and art. Her spirituality combined with her scientific studies directed her work from realism to abstraction. New Mexico artists are amazing! VISIT ARTIST'S WEBSITE Instagram: @artbydeyo Represented by: Corrales Bosque Gallery Corrales, NM Ricochet Gallery Albuquerque, NM Artist Statement: Art is the creative journey which leads her exploration into painting and experimenting with color and materials. Explorations allow for her inner child to play with mark making and layers of paint add history to her work. Her love of Oriental brush painting has been an influence and fuels her practice of utilizing mixed media, integrating collage elements into the works. East meets West as she integrates these influences with her passion for abstract expressionism - joining the exacting, methodical style of one, with the free, spontaneous flow of the other. Oriental influences are a natural pairing with my love of nature. Recently she discovered her love for encaustic collage. Encaustic is the perfect vehicle for marrying paper with wax. Through papers and wax her stories emerge about the relationships between people, creatures and things. New Mexico artists are amazing!
