NMAD connects art lovers directly with New Mexico artists—their studios, representing galleries, exhibiting venues, and art events—making it easy to discover, explore, and engage.

The NMAD Journey & Mission
The New Mexico Artist Directory began with a simple question—one that sparked months of conversation among a group of working artist friends: How can artists be more visible and better connected beyond their studio walls in a rapidly changing world?
We recognized early on that virtual marketing is essential for keeping New Mexico’s art and artists in front of collectors and enthusiasts. A strong online presence isn’t just about the future—it’s vital for thriving today.
Those conversations led to the launch of NMAD in late 2015. Our mission then, and now, is to provide an affordable and accessible online directory that directly connects New Mexico artists with people eager to explore the state’s incredible creative diversity.
Our Marketing Approach
We actively promote artists, venues, and events—both online and in person—through individual posts on our News feed and Facebook platforms. We also like, share, and amplify our members’ posts within our growing network to help extend their reach.
In addition, we regularly feature curated posts highlighting groups of artists working in specific mediums, each linking directly to the artist’s own website. This approach has proven to be a powerful way to broaden visibility for our members.

Each artist listing includes images, descriptive text, and direct contact links to the artist’s website or online presence. Listings highlight not only the artwork, but also studios, galleries, exhibitions, classes, and workshops—offering viewers a complete picture of each artist’s creative world.
Continued Growth & Partnerships
Since its humble beginnings, NMAD has continued to grow and evolve. The website has gone through multiple redesigns to support our expanding community and now features workshops, exhibitions, studio tours, and galleries representing our members.
We collaborate with organizations such as New Mexico True and regularly spotlight artists on our dedicated Facebook page, connecting them with broader audiences and networks. We also offer complimentary listings for studio tours throughout the year, along with listings for galleries, non-profits, and art-related services.
Our members consistently tell us that NMAD is a valuable part of their marketing efforts. Each year brings continued growth—and as we move forward, we look forward to expanding our reach and supporting New Mexico’s artists even more.
