Valorie Sams was born and spent her early years in the American South and now resides in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She led a successful career as an award winning graphic designer, having worked for advertising agencies, magazines and her own marketing and design business. Her goal as an artist is to relate through the mood and color of a painting, a sense of awe and escape to the viewer. "A painting can change not only the energy of an environment, it can also change the viewer. Art can be more than color on canvas; it can be a tranquil beauty that brings peace to our lives." Valorie works in color pencil and pastel her work is represented in private collections across the United States.
