Gaucho Blue Fine Art Gallery Located in the centre of Peñasco on the Scenic 'High Road To Taos' Route. 14148 State Road 75, Peñasco, NM 87553 Hours: Thursday - Sunday, 11am - 5pm, call to visit at other times. 575- 587-1076 Gaucho Blue has been likened to 'New York on the High Road' by so many visitors, that it's tempting to rename it. Come visit us and be surprised by the ever-changing and stimulating work on show. Nick and Lise Lise has been working with fibre in its various guises for nearly 30 years. She continues to experiment with new directions in felt work, being inspired by innovators in Europe and the US. Lise's latest work is a series of new fiber art combined with silver and gold plated jewelry. Nick was first attracted to print making while hanging out at the Zeller 9 Gallery on the Fulham Road in Chelsea. After sessions at Winchester Art College studying etching, he was truly hooked. In the US at the Pacific Arts League of Palo Alto, Nick studied with Adele Seltzer (who had worked with Nathaniel Oliviera), and switched allegiance from etching to monotype printmaking. In Taos, Nick met Michael Vigil, an inspiring and generous artist and printmaker, and Nick continues to print at Michael's studio, Graphic Impressions. Recently, Nick has returned to etching and serigraphs, with thought-provoking work ranging from contemporary takes on Japanese samurai themes, to homages to icons of art and music.
