My childhood questions about religion inspired me to awaken awareness of the divine feminine with art, and to raise questions about how beliefs affect gender roles, spiritual life, economics, medicinal and sociopolitical practices. After many years of reading myths to my children and my students, I learned that our ancient ancestors believed divine females gave birth to seasons, destroyed demons, saved the innocent, and healed disease. They created art, music, poetry, and dance; and fiercely protected the innocent. Goddesses foresaw the future, grew magical golden apples, arched over earth as a blanket of stars, and offered eternal life. From Buffalo, NY, I moved to New Mexico in 1994, and juggled life as a mother, Montessori teacher, and artist, studying painting with Lee Rommel and Bruce King. I am now an award-winning, internationally recognized artist who collaborates with artists around the globe. I am currently painting curandera goddesses revered for their healing abilities.
