"Glass has always been an attractive medium to me. When I left teaching in 2017, I finally had the hours to dedicate to this time-intensive craft. After apprenticing with Scottish Stained Glass, I was hired on as a builder and restorer. Now, I create, restore, repair, and host classes in my studio on Cerrillos Rd to share my love of this age-old art with others. As an emerging artist, I find myself on a tightrope between decorative and fine art. Sometimes I fall one way, sometimes the other. My favorite pieces are the ones with hidden messages or meaning beyond the obvious symbolism or shapes included in the piece, and the ones that find the right combination of colors, textures, and opacities. Finding this combination can be somewhat challenging, even with the wide variety of art glass available, but it feels so good to find it. I love chatting with fellow artists and building community in Santa Fe. Stop by and say hi sometime!" New Mexico artists are amazing!
