If it is feasible to be supported between fantasizing and waking it is in the act of painting. Life, in all its ins and outs and activities, started to make sense in the making of a painting that pulls as much enigma for the painter as the onlooker. The dreamer identifies the paradox and is aware that language can never direst it so completely. From the rock art on our canyon walls to the pottery of the Pueblo people, from the Taos Society of Artists to the artists and dreamers working hand in hand, Taos has long motivated people to select carving instruments, brushes, or the entire tool that assisted them to direct their imagination and their likes for living in this beautiful place. The art of Taos, in no matter what medium, is more than a little distinctive, filled with the light, the land, and the culture of Taos. An art colony like no other, Taos has been home to artists provided there have been creative’s, and that spirit lives on recent times in the amazing variety of artistic creation on display in our art galleries.
