Theresa Cashman TLC Stained Glass ARTIST VISIT ARTIST'S WEBSITE EMAIL THERESA Classes – Commissions – Repairs I love sharing my inspiration with others and am honored to create and restore beloved items for my clients. -Theresa Lynn Cashman ![]() Glass has always been an attractive medium to me. When I left teaching in 2017, I finally had the hours to dedicate to this time-intensive craft. After apprenticing with Scottish Stained Glass, I was hired on as a builder and restorer. Now, I create, restore, repair, and host classes in my studio on Cerrillos Rd to share my love of this age-old art with others. As an emerging artist, I find myself on a tightrope between decorative and fine art. Sometimes I fall one way, sometimes the other. My favorite pieces are the ones with hidden messages or meaning beyond the obvious symbolism or shapes included in the piece, and the ones that find the right combination of colors, textures, and opacities. Finding this combination can be somewhat challenging, even with the wide variety of art glass available, but it feels so good to find it. Featuring: Santa Fe Artist, Melinda Silver Fine Art, Abstract Acrylics, Encaustics and Mixed Media.4/6/2023 Melinda Silver Fine Art Abstract Acrylics, Encaustics and Mixed Media VISIT ARTISTS WEBSITE Current Gallery Affiliation Art Club Gallery of New Mexico, 225 Canyon Rd., Suite 2, Santa Fe, NM 87501 I am delighted to find that my abstract paintings invite wide and lively interpretations by viewers and collectors. I began my artistic career as an illustrator and graphic designer for print media; pen and ink were my best friends. Over the years, I expanded my range of media and artistic styles. I now concentrate on painting with acrylics, oils with cold wax, and encaustics (hand-prepared oil tints with wax formulations) as I venture into the abstract. I have further used pieces of old paintings, collected ephemera and graphic sensibilities to work in paper collage. All works are abstracted, and my method of creation requires that I face and embrace change and the unexpected. New Mexico artists are amazing! I work in sterling silver and 14/18 karat gold, and I integrate forging, piercing, sinking, chasing, rolling, and overlay work in metal with hand carved/cast forms. Once designs and special pieces are fabricated, then they are highlighted with surface patina to accent the mixed metals and textures in each piece. Finally, they are set with colored gemstones and one-of-a-kind cabochons. New Mexico artists are amazing! Discover New Mexico’s Art Treasures & support the people who create them. Sandra Duran Wilson Abstract Acrylic Paintings and Sculpture VISIT THE ARTISTS WEBSITE View Sandra's Facebook Page ![]() Art Meets Science Sandra Duran Wilson comes from a family of artists and scientists. She grew up in a world where all things were possible in her imagination. It was a world where she could look through the microscope in her fathers office and paint what she saw. Her early years were spent on the border of Mexico where the people, animals, landscape, music, culture and the stories of the curanderas shaped her reality. Years later she would return frequently to Mexico and South America to absorb the culture, traditions and art. Her spirituality combined with her scientific studies directed her work from realism to abstraction. New Mexico artists are amazing! VISIT ARTIST'S WEBSITE Instagram: @artbydeyo Represented by: Corrales Bosque Gallery Corrales, NM Ricochet Gallery Albuquerque, NM ![]() Artist Statement: Art is the creative journey which leads her exploration into painting and experimenting with color and materials. Explorations allow for her inner child to play with mark making and layers of paint add history to her work. Her love of Oriental brush painting has been an influence and fuels her practice of utilizing mixed media, integrating collage elements into the works. East meets West as she integrates these influences with her passion for abstract expressionism - joining the exacting, methodical style of one, with the free, spontaneous flow of the other. Oriental influences are a natural pairing with my love of nature. Recently she discovered her love for encaustic collage. Encaustic is the perfect vehicle for marrying paper with wax. Through papers and wax her stories emerge about the relationships between people, creatures and things. New Mexico artists are amazing! Sharon Stillwater, Fine Art Rociada, NM PAINTING THE ETERNAL CYCLES OF LIFE VISIT ARTIST'S WEBSITE My work is inspired by the rich kaleidoscope of the human psyche and its mirror in nature and the wilderness. In my art, I strive to cross, if only for a moment, the illusory borders which separate us from each other and from the more than human universe of which we are a part. I work mainly in oils and mixed media and also offer Limited Edition Giclée prints. For more images and information visit my website. New Mexico artists are amazing! Featuring: Albuquerque Artist, Janet Bothne, Original Contemporary Art in Mixed Media & Acrylic.3/28/2023 Having given up the need to control my work, I’ve found my center and learned the satisfaction of letting paint be paint. I’m simply the conduit for these colors that play and trick the eye, with their shy or bold personalities revealing themselves or not, depending on the light—their mischievous accomplice. The ultimate goal of my artistic practice is to achieve balance; a balance in the process between control and letting go, a balance esthetically between the simple and the complex, and balance conceptually between the familiar and the enigmatic. Williams, Artist Statement: When I first began creating art, I started out realistically portraying various subject matter, mainly nature. This soon became tedious, and I felt like I was simply recreating something nature had already created. I have now changed my methodology. My work has evolved. Instead of recreating that which already exists I enjoy exploring concepts and themes which allow my ideas and curiosity to take precedent over realism. In addition to presenting ideas formed from researching various themes I use experimentation and intuition to create compositions which compliment my thoughts. Since I use mixed processes, my pieces are a varied collection of techniques including collage, paper staining, printmaking, epoxy resin pouring, painting and my personal favorite, paper excavation. I enjoy combining several of these techniques into one piece and I think that is what makes my work unique. My philosophy is that if I relate to something; someone else will also relate to it. In a current series I am exploring beginnings; both personal and those of all mankind and our surroundings. In some of my paintings I have put elements which are reminders of my own roots. People are reminded of their own starts in life while looking at mine. We are all connected in one way or another. When I can reach deep down and find these connections, I am successful as an artist. There is no other blue as the blue of the New Mexico Sky, or the wild colors that we see in our sunsets. The colors and mountains of New Mexico have influenced my painting style for many years. I believe this comes from having to live away from them for several years in a wet and dreary climate, and getting to return to my native state. New Mexico artists are amazing!
